SAMY SAEMANN COMBO
a new kind of european groovejazz
After ten years, bassist Samy Saemann once again reaches into his groove and melody toolbox with the new album "LUPA LUPA!", sending the listener on a beautiful musical journey. Slap bass meets rock guitar; singing fretless bass harmonizes with violin, cello and trumpet.
Together with his fabulous band, the SAEMANN COMBO, and a line up of fantastic guest musicians, Samy Saemann has produced an album that consists of exclusively self-composed instrumental pieces, which engage the listener deeply musically and emotionally.
The tunes don't shy away from embracing a variety of styles and cross genre borders without fear.
"LUPA LUPA!" is funky, it's jazzy, it rocks!
And even Samy's classical roots bubble to the surface in songs like "Let There B Love" and "You".
With a very funky, open attitude Samy Saemann and his band pulls the listener in with racy grooves and dreamy melodies.
"LUPA LUPA!" realizes the bass as both the heartbeat of the groove as well as a soaring lead instrument, also already exemplified in his first album "CRAZY MAN" from 2011.
Samy's bassplaying is always in-the-pocket, elegantly flirting with the melody while staying present in every groovy moment.
